LAHORE, Aug 19: Shahdara and Gulberg police claimed on Friday to have arrested six robbers and recovered looted valuables and illegal arms from their possession.

According to a handout, DIG (Operations) Ghulam Muhammad Dogar assigned special task to the police to control theft and robbery incidents in the city.

The Gulberg and Shahdara police, led by Superintendent of Police (City) Dr Asif Shahzad, raided various city localities and arrested six members of an inter-district gang, led by Zafar alias Zafri dacoit.

The police claimed the gang was active in various districts, including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana and Faisalabad.

The DIG has also announced cash prizes with certificates for members of the special teams.
