LAHORE, June 23: As many as seven members belonging to chemical sector on Thursday decided to become trustees of Sheikhupura Dry Port Trust.

The decision was taken at a meeting between members of chemical sector and SDPT co-chairman and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry president, Shahzad Ali Malik, here at the LCCI office.

The chemical sector delegation was led by LCCI executive committee member Khwaja Khawar Rashid.

Mr Malik while appreciating the positive contribution of members of chemical sector said the establishment of Sheikhupura dry port would go a long way in strengthening the economy of the country. He said the establishment of a state-of-the-art dry port was meant to facilitate the importers and exporters. He said all other segments of the economy would also be taken as trustees of the dry port.

Briefing the participants about the project, Mr Malik said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was supporting the scheme while the chamber had also taken Korean Rail onboard for having freight trains for this mega project.
