LAHORE, June 11: An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday granted interim bail to cricketing player Imran Nazir in a kidnap attempt case.

Judge Shahida Saeed set bail at Rs50,000 and directed Nazir to join the police investigation.

The Lytton Road police had registered a case against Imran Nazir and two others on the complaint of Sohail who alleged that the accused had tried to kidnap him when he stopped his car at a signal in Qartaba Chowk.

He said two traffic wardens took notice of the incident and got him released from the clutches of the kidnappers, who sped away despite a pursuit launched by the wardens.
