SUKKUR, May 31: A blast derailed three bogies and locomotive of a train near Tangwani in Kandhkot-Kashmore district adjacent to Balochistan on Tuesday, causing minor injuries to 15 passengers, including seven women and three children.
The blast ripped apart two-foot part of the track at 1.50pm when Peshawar-bound Khushal Khan Khatak Express was heading to its destination.
Local people rushed to the site of the blast and provided water and food to the passengers who remained stranded for over three hours in sizzling heat.
The train left the area, using down track, at 5.30pm, said Divisional Superintendent of Pakistan Railways' Sukkur division Roshan Ali Mangi.
He told journalists repair work on the damaged track had been started and would be completed by midnight.
Police have registered case against unidentified miscreants on the complaint of railway officials.
