LAHORE, May 30: A special team of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Monday demolished illegally-constructed 25 shops and a residential building in various parts of the city.

According to a press release, the team led by the director (town planning) demolished 15 shops in Gulberg’s industrial area and 10 near Gajumata on Ferozepur Road.

The team also bulldozed a residential building in Karim Block of Allama Iqbal Town.

The shops and the building were demolished because the owners had not got approval of drawings from the LDA.

CLEAN-UP: Special teams of the City District Government of Lahore (CDGL) on Monday removed more encroachments and razed illegal structures in various city localities.

The teams removed encroachments and illegal structures in Shalamar, Gulberg, Ravi, Data Ganj Bakhsh, Allama Iqbal, Aziz Bhatti and Samanabad towns.
