LAHORE, May 29: Three people shot dead a 50-year-old man at his residence in Nishat Colony in South Cantonment police precincts on Sunday.

Sabira Bibi told the police that three masked people entered their house in small hours and detained all members of the family, except for her husband Peer Ali, in a room. She said the suspects shot the father of five to death and fled.

Sabira said that Ali, who retired from a private insurance company a few days ago, had a family dispute with his maternal cousins. The police shifted the body for autopsy and registered a case.

Area ASP Syeda Zahida Bokhari said according to the victim's children, the suspects had entered the house through a door, which was not locked, and detained the entire family, except the victim, in a room. FOUND MURDERED:

An 18-year-old girl, who was kidnapped from her Green Town residence, was found strangled in Taufeeq Colony early on Sunday.

The police said Rozina, daughter of Muhammad Yousaf, of Bhatta Chowk, responded to a door bell at around 10pm on Saturday but was abducted by unidentified people. The family began a search but in vain.

In small hours, a Taufeeq Colony resident informed the police about the body of a girl lying with her hands and foot tied with a piece of cloth. The police shifted the body to the morgue where Yousaf recognised her.

The Harbanspura police found the body of a newborn in the city canal on Sunday. The police suspected that unidentified person(s) disposed the body of in an attempt to conceal their crime. DIES:

A man in 30s died owing to sun stroke at Royal Park near Lakshami Chowk on Sunday. The Qilla Gujjar Singh police the man also appeared to be an addict. The body was shifted to Mayo Hospital's morgue.
