KHAIRPUR, Oct 23: The director general, health, Sindh, has said 21 polio cases have been reported in different parts of the province.

Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, the director general said five cases in Khairpur district, seven in Ghotki, three in Karachi and one each in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad and Hyderabad districts were reported.

He admitted the cases reported in Khairpur were due to the negligence of doctors and other staff deputed for administering polio drops.

He said due to wrong policies of officials of the Expanded Programme of Immunization, the polio virus had spread in the district during the last two years.

He said the EDOs, health, of the affected districts would be removed.

WATER THEFT: The Faiz Ganj police on Wednesday booked 20 growers of Faiz Gang taluka on charges of water theft.

The police have so far arrested five — Allah Dino, Rajab, Ali Khan, Ali Dad and Hakim Rajpar — of the booked growers.

The growers were booked on the complaint of the Darogha of the Faiz Ganj Wah.
