LAHORE, May 5: Lahore Development Authority Director General Abdul Jabbar Shaheen has suspended from service six officials for allegedly committing illegalities while processing ownership files in Quaid-i-Azam Town, a residential area comprising localities of Township and Green Town, and embezzled petroleum product funds allocated for machinery.

According to a spokesman, the DG suspended on Thursday Director (Land Development-I) Moazzam Rashid, Deputy Director (Quaid-i-Azam Town) Baber Javed Butt, Assistant Director (Law) Mehboob Ahmed Rabbani and Assistant (LDA Directorate) Mazhar Munir Baig for processing wrong property ownership files relating to Quaid-i-Azam Town.

The DG also suspended Deputy Director (Enforcement) Ms Ramine Chaudhry and Assistant Director (Enforcement) Rai Shajar Abbas for their involvement in embezzlement of funds under the petroleum products head. The suspended officials had been directed to join the Administration Directorate, the spokesman said.

The DG transferred Director (Headquarters) Muhammad Khalid Mehmood and posted him as Director (Land Development-I). He also transferred Director (Estate Management-II) Rao Fazalur Rehman and posted him as Director, Estate Management, (Quaid-i-Azam Town). Liaquat Ali Randhawa, awaiting posting, has been posted as Director (Estate Management-II). Director (Administration) Shahid Farid has been entrusted with the additional charge of the post of director (headquarters).

The DG reinstated two deputy directors namely Shahbazul Haq and Sohail Aslam and posted them as deputy director (enforcement) and deputy director (Quaid-i-Azam Town), respectively.

Assistant Director Asadullah Cheema was transferred and posted as AD (Enforcement).—Staff Reporter
