TOBA TEK SINGH, April 20: A man was allegedly tortured to death near Kamalia on Wednesday. Reports said Munir Ahmad, a resident of Chak 319-GB, Chuttiana, was an employee at a petrol filling station near the Chaddhar police post.

He went to Iqbal Sial's house located near his filling station to ask for money he had lent. Following an exchange of harsh words, Iqbal and his family roughed up Munir and raised an alarm.

A number of people gathered there and gave a sound thrashing to Munir who succumbed to his injuries.

A source claimed the deceased had relations with Iqbal's daughter with whom he went to meet. Iqbal's family and some other people tortured him to death.

A Kamalia police official said the body was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for autopsy and an inquiry was launched.
