KOHAT, Feb 19: Three people including a student were killed and 19 injured in different incidents in Hangu and Kohat districts on Saturday.

In the first incident, an oil tanker, a truck and a passenger coach collided in Sumari area on Indus Highway due to over speeding. The driver of the truck, Murtaza, a resident of Taro Jabba area in Nowshera, was killed and several others were injured in the accident.

The injured identified as Jan Afzal and Imam Said, residents of Darra Adam Khel; Sehr Gul and Mohammad Ayub, residents of Shakardarra area of Kohat, and Riaz Khan, a resident of Saragai, were shifted to divisional headquarters hospital in Kohat.

In Chambai square on Rawalpindi Road a car turned turtle when it ran over a cyclist. The driver of the car, Habib Gul, was killed in the accident while Shahid Khan, Mohammad Riaz and the cyclist Mohammad Farooq were injured. In another incident near the building of Inter Services Selection Board in Kohat a car hit Syed Hamza, a student of class eight, who was riding a bicycle. The student received fatal injuries in the accident. He succumbed to his injuries while on his way to hospital.

Similarly, in Zargari area of Hnagu district eight persons suffered serious dagger and hatchet injuries during a clash between two rival groups. They were shifted to Civil Hospital Hangu for treatment. The condition of the injured was stable, hospital sources said.

The SHO of Doaba police station told Dawn that both the groups had not registered case against each other.
