HYDERABAD, Oct 6: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro has said the government will provide a 4,000-sq-yd plot for the establishment of an Expo-Centre at Hyderabad.

He was talking to a delegation of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) which called on him at the Circuit House on Saturday.

He asked the district government to identify the plot in consultation with the HCCI so that the project could be commissioned as soon as possible.

Soomro said that the government was making all out efforts to promote industrial activity in the province by creating an investor-friendly atmosphere.

Responding to the complaints about the requisitioning of vehicles, he said that it was not the government alone which was hiring vehicles for election duties but the candidates had also hired a large number of vehicles for their election campaign.

He, however, directed the administration not to requisition those vehicles which were engaged in the distribution of daily-use commodities.

The district Nazim, Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman was also present on the occasion.
