QUETTA, Feb 7: Two oil tankers carrying fuel for Nato forces in Afghanistan were gutted and three others damaged in Methri area of Sibi district on Monday.

Sources said that gunmen on motorbikes fired on the tankers, forcing drivers to stop and leave their vehicles. The attackers then set the tankers on fire and fled.

An official of the local administration said that fire-tenders were sent to the site of the attack from Sibi. They saved three tankers from complete destruction. However, two tankers were gutted.

Police launched a search operation in the area to arrest the culprits.
