DADU, Feb 3: Two groups clashed over fishing in Main Nara Valley Drain on Thursday.

Armed persons have occupied MNV drain, which caused harassment among locals.

Armed men of two groups of Sarwar Panhwar and Haji Ayoub Mallah took positions on MNV drain at Chhandan area and exchanged fire.

Supporters of Haji Ayoub Mallah took out a procession in Dadu and held a demonstration at the DPO chowk which led to suspension of traffic for some time.

Their leader Mehboob Mallah said that fishing contract had been awarded to Haji Ayoub Mallah, but armed persons of Sarwar Panhwar stopped them from fishing and threatened to kill them. He demanded arrest of the armed men and said people of contractors should be allowed to fishing. On assurance by the DSP, they dispersed.—Correspondent
