LAHORE, Feb 3: A 50-year-old man was found murdered in a graveyard of Ichhra here on Thursday.

The police termed it a blind murder saying Ashiq Husain of Pir Ghazi Road and his family had no enmity. He was shot in the head.

The family suspected that he might have been killed by robbers on resistance as his purse was missing.

Quoting the family, the police said Ashiq left his residence to offer fateha at the grave of his mother. When he did not return for hours, his relatives visited the graveyard and found him lying in a pool of blood. He was shifted to Services Hospital where doctors confirmed his death.

A case has been registered against unidentified killer(s) on the complaint of deceased’s brother Mushtaq.

FOUND DEAD: A 25-year-old youth was found dead in a plot near Dubanpura with multiple torture marks on his body on Thursday.

Sabzazar police claimed that Zulfiqar Ali was a robber involved in many incidents of crime.

The Sabzazar DSP said the preliminary investigation suggested that Zulfiqar might have been killed by his accomplices. He was killed with a sharp-edged weapon.

He said four criminals had shot at and injured a citizen, Saqib, in the Sabzazar area a couple of days ago. The area people captured one of the fleeing robbers, later identified as Iftikhar, and handed him over to the police. A case was registered against the four suspects on the complaint of injured Saqib.

He said the arrested suspect, Iftikhar, admitted that Zulfiqar was his accomplice.

The body was shifted to a city morgue for an autopsy.

The police have registered a case against the alleged killers.

ACCIDENT: A youth was crushed to death while another injured critically when a truck hit their motorcycle on Ravi Road on Thursday.

The injured youth were taken to a hospital where Arslan succumbed to his wounds, while the condition of Ali is said to be critical.
