`Arrest the killers`

Published January 25, 2011

PESHAWAR, Jan 25: A female radio announcer hailing from Charsadda has accused a group of armed men led by Jahangir and Faheem of killing her two brothers and demanded their early arrest.

Talking to media persons at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, Naveeda Samreen said that four years ago her brother Said Bacha had married a girl, Hayat Naz, sister of the main accused, hailing from Sar Dheri Charsadda, but things were not going well.

“On Hayat Naz's will, my father hired a separate house for the couple but even then she went to her father's house, stayed there for two years and later demanded divorce,” the complainant said.

Later, she said, things worsened over a period of time and the accused attacked and killed Said Bacha and also forced our family to leave Charsadda.

The personnel of local Prang police station, she alleged, were also supporting the accused as they had registered another FIR against her brothers to avoid arrest. “My second brother Fayaz was also gunned down by the same accused while he was on way to a local court about a week ago,” she added.

Ms Naveeda, who is also physically challenged and member of the Special Persons Development Association, said that her sister-in-law had also taken away her two nephews, and added that one of the children was later killed in mysterious circumstances.

She demanded of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor, chief minister provincial and police chief to arrest the killers and provide protection to her family.
