GHALANAI, Jan 22: About 15 suspected people were arrested during a search operation in Shal Korona, Mohmand Agency, as driver of pro-government tribal elder Khaista Gul succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Saturday.

Pro-government tribal elder and member of Tarakzai Peace Committee Malik Khaista Gul and his driver Zainullah were injured in an ambush near Shal Korona in Michini, Yakaghund, on Friday. They were taken to hospital where Zainullah succumbed to his injuries. He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard.

The security forces, meanwhile, launched a search operation in Shal Korona and Bhai Korona and arrested 15 suspected people. Three more suspects were arrested in a raid on a house in Othokhel area of Haleezai tehsil. Meanwhile, Nato helicopters violated Pakistan's airspace and flew over bordering areas, including Suran Dara and Bhaizai, for a few minutes. — Correspondent
