KARACHI, Jan 21: Shahwilayat School defeated Bahria Model School No 2 42-26 in the group B match of the SSB Inter-school basketball championship which commenced at PSB Coaching Centre on Friday.

Osama Mohsin (13) Abbas Jafri and Shehryar Raza 12 points apiece starred for winners while Nadeem scored seven for losers.

In the earlier group A match, The City School PAF Chapter registered an overwhelming 67-12 victory over Jaffer Public School. Umair Ali top scored with 18 followed by Asad 15 and Shabbir 10. Ahmed Asif reduced the deficit for losers with six points.

In a low-scoring group C match, Foundation Public School edged past Qamar Bani Hashim School 17-11. Jahanzeb scored the limelight for winners with 10.

In two other matches, The City School Darakshan beat I-Lead City Model School 18-13 while Beaconhouse Jubilee Campus carved out 28-6 victory over Bulandi School Campus.

Earlier, secretary sports Sindh, Shoaib Ahmed inaugurated the event at a colourful ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion he announced a cash prize of Rs15,000 for winning team and Rs5,000 for the runners up. The Police bank was also in attendance.
