KOHAT, Jan 20: Three FC personnel were killed and two others injured in an exchange of fire with a gang of kidnappers on Thursday.

(According to AFP, the number of people killed in the shootout was six) Sources said that two employees of an oil and gas firm had been abducted by gunmen in the company’s vehicle from Darmalak area of Lachi.

Security personnel and local people started chasing the kidnappers. A gunfight with the kidnappers took place in which three FC personnel were killed and two others injured. The gunmen escaped along with the kidnapped employees.

AFP adds: “Two company officials were killed along with four soldiers from the paramilitary Frontier Corps who were providing escort to the team,” senior police official Fazal Naeem said.
