LADHA/GHALANAI, Jan 12: Three security men were killed and another was injured in two separate incidents of violence in South Waziristan and Mohmand tribal regions on Wednesday.

Sources said that two security personnel were killed and another was injured in a roadside blast near Sarokai area on Wana-Jandola Road in South Wazristan Agency.

They said that security personnel were patrolling the road to clear it of landmines. “When they reached near Sarokai their vehicle was hit by a landmine. As a result two security personnel identified as Abdul Shakoor and Izhar were killed on the spot while Jumma Khan suffered injuries,” they added.

The bodies and injured were taken to Wana from there the injured soldier was shifted to CMH Dera Ismail Khan in a special helicopter. Later, the bodies were dispatched to their hometown for burial.

In Mohmand Agency, a security man was killed when militants fired mortar shells at FC camp in tehsil Baizai on Wednesday. Sources said that militants attacked the Bhai Dag FC camp with mortars. A security man identified as Naik Zamin Khan was killed in the attack, they said.

Security forces targeted militant positions from the camp with artillery. However, no casualty was reported. — Dawn Report
