KARACHI, Jan 10: Police found the trussed-up body of a young man in a North Nazimabad locality on Monday, officials said.

They said that the victim, identified as 40-year-old Hameedullah, was a resident of Sohrab Goth and used to sell waistcoats.

“According to the victim's family, he had been missing since Saturday evening after he left home to see some friends in Kausar Niazi Colony in North Nazimabad,” said an official at the Taimuria police station.

“His cellphone stopped responding late in the night and the family finally approached the area police station to lodge a report regarding his disappearance.”

The police said the body bore torture marks and a post-mortem examination at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital revealed that he was strangled to death.

“The victim hailed from Dera Ghazi Khan and had been settled here for the last few years. We believe that there was no motive other than some personal enmity behind the murder,” added the official.
