RAWALPINDI, Jan 7: Activists of the Shabab-i-Islami Pakistan (SIP), Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and Tehrik Fidayan-i-Khatm-i-Nabuwwat (TFKN) took out precessions here after Friday prayers in favour of Mumtaz Qadri, the self-confessed assassin of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer. The SIC and SIP processions started from the Jamia Masjid Amna and the TFKN rally from Sadiqabad and culminated near the home of Qadri in Muslim Town. The activists expressed solidarity with the father and brothers of Qadri.

Fiazul Hassan Chohan and Mufti Azizuddin Kokab claimed that the entire nation was against any amendment to the blasphemy law. They said the Constitution could be amended but ‘Sharia’ could not be amended or repealed.
