KARACHI, Sept 17: Delegations from different countries currently visiting Pakistan in connection with IDEAS-2002 on Tuesday called on Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Abdul Aziz Mirza and Vice Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral T M Khattak.

In the morning, a three-member delegation from Thailand led by Admiral Sanya Putiyotin, Special Advisor on the Navy to the Government of Thailand, called on Admiral Mirza at the Headquarters, Commander Karachi.

A nine member Qatari delegation led by Staff Brig-Gen Nasser Abdullah Al-Noemi, Commander Qatar Emiri Navy, a delegation from Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Defence Minister, Chairman General Staff and Commander Air and Defence Forces Lt-Gen Chirytarov Sardar Meremuhammedovih, a six member delegation from Ukraine headed by Admiral Yezhel Mikhail Bronislavovich, Commander-in-Chief Ukraine Navy, and a delegation from China led by Hang Weimin, Vice Minister of State Communication also called on the Chief of the Naval Staff at the Expo Centre.

They spent some time with Admiral Mirza and exchanged views of mutual interest.

Later, the Thai delegation called on Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Khattak. A French delegation headed by Rear Admiral Jean Louis also called on the Vice Chief. During the meeting, matters of bilateral interest came under discussion.
