Under-16 hockey starts

KARACHI, Oct 12 The opening day of the under-16 hockey tournament for boys saw Programmer Public School, BVS Parsi School, Zahoor School Liaquatabad and Korangi Academy winning their matches at the Hockey Club of Pakistan here on Tuesday.

Programmer Public School beat Karachi Cambridge 1-0 with Mohammad Bilal scoring the winner for them.

The next match between BVS Parsi School and Iftikhar Syed Academy was also won 1-0 by the former with Zain Ali scoring the goal.

In the third match, Zahoor School Liaquatabad beat Shamim Public School 2-0 with the goals for the winners being scored by Ali Murtaza and Sohail Ahmed.

Finally, Korangi Academy beat Railway School 1-0 with Imran Khan getting them the all-important goal.

The event is being organised by Ghulaman-e-Abbas High School in collaboration with the Karachi Hockey Association.— Sports Reporter
