KHAIRPUR, Sept 3: Scores of youths of Nara taluka here on Tuesday staged a demonstration against the multinational companies ignoring the locals for jobs in gas and oil fields at Nara.

The protesters have set up a hunger strike camp at the Court Road, here and also observed hunger strike.

The protesters have also put up banners against gas and oil companies at the camp.

Teachers: Teachers and other staff of the Government High School and the Government Primary School, Bhango Behan, on Tuesday boycotted classes to protest against their salaries being robbed from a clerk of the high school.

They said that an amount worth Rs219,312 had been stolen.

They said that the clerk, Abdul Latif Mari, had taken out the salary from the National Bank, Pacca Chang, and was headed towards the school when three armed men robbed it from him near the Bhango Behan-Faiz Ganj link road.

They said that the clerk had lodged a report with the Faiz Ganj police.

Bhango Behan is situated in Faiz Ganj Taluka about 80 kms from here.

snatched: Six unidentified armed persons robbed a driver of his truck near Kouro Phulpoto village here on Tuesday.

Three of the persons hired the truck (AE-1772) from Sukkur goods transport stand for Khairpur to pick up buffaloes for Karachi and when they reached Kot Mir Mohammad, Kingri taluka, three more persons joined them.

The six persons tide hands of the driver, Ogan Khoso, and the cleaner and dropped them on a bypass near the village.

The matter has been reported to the police.
