SUKKUR, Sept 3: District Naib Nazim Iqbal Dawood inaugurated the three-day national immunization campaign by administering polio drops to children at the Government Piracha Hospital here on Tuesday.

The drive, launched by the district government with the cooperation of UNICEF, will continue till Sept 6.

Dawood urged the people to vaccinate their children up to five years of age against polio.

Adds our Mirpurkhas correspondent: A walk was held under the aegis of the health department to create awareness about the anti-polio campaign here on Tuesday.

Led by District Nazim Pir Syed Shafqat Hussain Shah Jilani, a large number of people, including councillors, Nazims and NGOs’ activist, started the walk from the basic health centre, Satellite town, and marched through main roads.

They were carrying banners and placards.
