48 forms accepted for NA, PA seats

HYDERABAD, Aug 28: A total number of 48 forms were accepted for various national and provincial assembly seats of Hyderabad District on Wednesday after the scrutiny of nomination papers began on Tuesday.

Three forms were rejected on Wednesday and scrutiny of nomination papers of three was fixed for Thursday.

The nomination papers of Muttahida Quami Movement’s Aftab Ahmed Sheikh, Mohammad Shamim Sheikh, and Prof Khalid Wahab, Chaudhry Basheer Gujjar of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Dr Saleem Hyder (Mohajir Ittehad Tehrik), Mohammad Iqbal Sheikh (PML-Q), Mushtaque Ahmed Khan of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), Shabeer Ahmed (PML-N) and others have been accepted by the returning officer, Qazi Allah Bux, for NA-219 (Hyderabad-II).

The returning officer for NA-220 (Hyderabad-III), Amjad Ali Bohyo, accepted the nomination papers of Muttahida’s Aftab Ahmed Sheikh and Prof Khalid Wahab, Mohammad Haneef Siddiqui (PML-N), Zaheeruddin Ghaman (PPP), and others.

For PS-45, the forms of Aslam Pervez of the Muttahida, Ishtiaque Hussain, Mohammad Usman (PPP), Khizar Hayat (PML-N), Riaz Mohammad Qureshi (Mohajir Quami Movement) and others were accepted.

For PS-46, the forms of Naeem Ishtiaque of the Muttahida, Abdul Khaliq Leghari (PPP), Rana Mehmood Ali Khan (MMA) and others were accepted.

The returning officer for NA-221 (Hyderabad-IV), Mohammad Aslam Sheikh, accepted the nomination forms of PML-Q’s Syed Shahabuddin Shah and Syed Ameer Ali Shah.

For PS-47, the returning officer accepted the forms of Maula Bux Chandio and Zahid Bhurgari of the PPP whereas the form of Peer Amjad Hussain Shah Jillani of the PPP was also accepted for PS-50.

Arab Lashari’s form for NA-222 (Hyderabad-V) was accepted.

The nomination forms of Munnawar Ali and Rana Zafar Iqbal were accepted for PS-53 and the returning officer accepted the forms of Wahid Bux Leghari and Syed Shahjahan for PS-54.

Likewise, the forms of NA-223 PPP’s Ms Shamshad Sattar Bachani and Masood-un-Nabi and an independent candidate, Shahjahan Shah, were accepted by the returning officer, Syed Qurban Ali Shah Lakhiyari.

For PS-51, Naseem Ahmed Meo’s form was accepted.

The candidatures of Imdad Pitafi and Lateef Mangrio (PPP) and Mohammad Ramzan of the Muttahida were accepted.

The forms of Farhad Ali of the PML-N for PS-46; Nadeem Ahmed of the Awami Qiyadat Party for PS-47, and the MMA’s Maulvi Shabbir Ahmed for NA-221 were rejected after an anomaly was found regarding their seconders and proposers.
