ISLAMABAD, Aug 7: The ministry of education will review the progress of Education for All Forum (EFAF) constituted in October 2001, which ensures free and compulsory primary education, on August 9, said an official statement.

The meeting which will be presided over by the minister for education, Ms Zobaida Jalal feature presentations by provincial and district EFA plan focal persons.

The participants from all over the country will share the latest developments in the EFA at national as well as international level so as to make the plan a success story.

The planning goals of the ESR were based on six Dakar goals reflected in the Dakar Framework For Action (2000).

These are: to reach the disadvantaged population groups in rural and urban areas with the emphasis on girls and women; to promote community participation and ownership of basic education programmes at the grassroots level and; to improve relevance and quality of basic education through enhancing learning achievements of the children, youth and adults.
