KARACHI, Jan 15 Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that Hyderabad has turned into a modern city thanks to Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil and his team.
Addressing a function held at the Governor's House to launch a book and a documentary about development works in the city, he said the PPP and MQM were striving to solve problems of people and put the province and the country on the road to progress, stability and prosperity.
Mr Jamil said the Haqparast leadership had completed 1,398 schemes related to health, water supply, education and roads at a cost of Rs16.62 billion.
He said four years ago only 50 per cent people of Hyderabad were being supplied drinking water, but now the MQM leadership had made arrangements for supplying water to the entire population till 2027. Eight new hospitals were set up.
Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro said that Hyderabad had always been neglected in the past, but credit went to Altaf Hussain and his team for carrying out tremendous development works in the city.
