KARACHI, Dec 27 The Pakistan People's Party, Karachi chapter, on Sunday observed the second death anniversary of the party's assassinated chairperson Benazir Bhutto with due solemnity and respect.

A large number of PPP leaders, workers and supporters besides people affiliated with other parties and members of the general public attended the Quran Khwani held at the Bilawal House and offered fateha for the departed soul.

Similar ceremonies and condolence meetings were held at many places across the city. PPP cadre and other admirers of the late leader renewed their resolve to carry forward Ms Bhutto's mission of promoting democracy at all levels.

Free food was also distributed at the Bilawal House.

Ministers, advisers, MNAs, MPAs and other elected PPP representatives including Mian Raza Rabbani, Rafique Engineer, Haji Muzaffar Shujra, Latif Mughal, Syed Waqar Mehdi, Anwar Lalji and Salim Zia among the hundreds of party leaders who were present at the Bilawal House ceremony.
