ISLAMABAD Seven new export processing zones will be established in various parts of the country aimed at promoting exports through these zones.

According to a senior official of the Ministry of Industries, proposals for establishment of export processing zones are at final stages and will be finalised after the approval from the cabinet.

Talking to APP, the official said these new export processing zones would be established at Sukkur, Larkana, Nooriabad, Hyderabad, Kotri, DI Khan and Khalifa Coastal Oil Refinery Point (Balochistan).

To a question about already established export processing zones, the official said that a number of export processing zones had already been established were Karachi Export Processing Zone, Sialkot Export Processing Zone, Risalpur Export Processing Zone, Saindak Export Processing Zone and Daddar EPZ. — APP
