ISLAMABAD, Aug 10 Pakistan Sports Board's (PSB) fact finding committee on Monday completed investigations into allegations of human trafficking against Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).

Controversial ex-Olympians Mansoor Ahmad and Naveed Alam had accused PHF Secretary Asif Bajwa of human trafficking and misuse of authority.

The issue grabbed attention of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Sports when Mansoor accused Bajwa of seeking German visas for his family by using hockey federation's platform despite the fact that the PHF secretary has the prerogative to move with family on international events.

The NA body on sports later formed a sub-committee to probe the allegations.

An official close to the developments said, “PHF's secretary Asif Bajwa and banned ex-Olympians Mansoor Ahmad and Naveed Alam had recorded their statements before the committee headed by deputy director general Akhtar Ganjera along with two junior officials of the sports board.”

The official added “Bajwa has provided all the relevant documentary evidences to the committee and answered all of the questions during the three-and-half hour investigation session.”

The committee will submit its report to the Federal Sports Minister Pir Aftab Shah Jilani.

A confident looking ex-Olympian Asif Bajwa in his brief media statement later told Dawn “The issue is currently being investigated by the PSB committee along with the Federal Investigation Agency and I have nothing to hide from anyone.”

The PHF's secretary added “I will not go into any mud-slinging against former players,” adding, “I have provided them [committee] all the required documents along with documentary evidence.”

“I have already submitted a written request to the FIA to probe into the allegations levelled against me,” he said.
