LAHORE, June 19 Pakistan finished fifth in the Junior Men's Hockey World Cup after beating defending champions Argentina 4-1 in the position match at Singapore on Friday.

According to the information received here, the match was tied 1-1 at the end of the first half. Pakistans Amir Shahzad scored the first goal by converting a penalty corner in the sixth minute but Guido Barreiros Lopez of Argentina leveled in the 16th minute.

Pakistans skipper Shafqat Rasool scored two goals when he converted a penalty corner in the 45th minute and earned a field goal in the 64th. The fourth goal happened through Abbas Haider in the 65th minute. Earlier, South Korea beat Spain 4-3 to take the seventh position.

The Pakistan junior team returns to Lahore on Saturday. —Agencies
