SANGHAR, July 1: A Jirga, which was called on Monday to settle the Ms Shanti burn case, has been postponed till Tuesday as the Panchayat members did not arrive.

It has been decided by the Bheel community that no outsider or local Wadera would be allowed to sit in the Jirga. The gathering will be held at a park of the municipality, Tando Adam.

The Panchayat members have started gathering at Tando Adam.

It may be recalled that Ms Shanti of the Haji Ismail Rahu village, near Tando Adam, had accused her brother-in-law, Agrio Bheel, of trying to rape her, and when she tried to resist, he threw her into a fire. He was accompanied by his elder brother, Bheemo Bheel.

Ms Shanti is being treated at the burns ward of the LUMHS, Hyderabad.

MAN ARRESTED: A relative of a dacoit, Mumtaz Mari, was arrested by the anti-dacoit force from the Tando Adam railway station on Sunday.

The police had been tipped off that dacoit Mumtaz would be arriving on a train from Karachi, so they went to the railway station and waited at its platform.

However, when the train arrived, Mumtaz’s relative, Ramzan Mari alias Ramzoo Mari, disembarked from it so he was immediately taken into custody by the anti-dacoit force for interrogation.

BOY COMMITS SUICIDE: A boy, Maula Bux Mari (18), committed suicide by taking pesticide at the Babul Khan Mari village, near Tando Adam, on Sunday.
