KOHAT, Jan 13 A security personal was killed when militants attacked Kotal checkpost on Tuesday.

The militants fired dozens of rockets at the Frontier Constabulary checkpost and the army retaliated with artillery from Kohat side. The security forces pounded the hideouts of militants in Bosti Khel area.

The deceased was identified as Khwaja Mohammad of Mehsud battalion whose body was sent to his home town for burial.

The army present in Darra Adamkhel later launched a massive search operation against the attackers. No arrest had been made till filing of this report.

ARMS SEIZED An attempt to smuggle huge quantity of weapons and ammunition from Darra Adamkhel to down country was foiled by police on Indus Highway on Monday night.

Police said that a pick up bearing registration number BAA.053-Loralai was stopped near old toll plaza on the Indus Highway for checking. During search, police recovered 20 Kalashnikovs, four pistols, five 12 bore repeaters, 8480 cartridges and dozens of chargers.

ROCKETS FIRED Militants fired rockets from Tor China area at the military bunkers in the Warsak Mor mountains in Akhorwal area of Darra Aadmkhel on Tuesday.
