KOHAT, Dec 1 A local leader of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl and Khateeb of Bahadar Kot Jamia mosque was picked up by personnel of an intelligence agency from his house, sources told Dawn on Monday.

The JUI-F district Shurah will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday to devise a strategy for the release of the cleric, Maulana Sanaullah, who is secretary general of PF-37 ward of the party.

JUI-F district secretary general Jamil Ahmed said that they would discuss the issue and try to get their man released from the intelligence people. He said that yhey had informed the top leadership of the party about the incident.

Official and family sources said that Maulana Sanaullah was picked up from his home by unidentified officials and whisked away to a secret place for interrogation on late Saturday night.

FORT ATTACKED

Militants attacked the Frontier Constabulary Fort at Kotal Hills with missiles from Darra Adamkhel on late Sunday night.

Officials said that militants fired two missiles from Tor Chappar area of Darra Adamkhel, located close to the checkpost. The missiles hit the fort wall and damaged it. No casualty was reported.

The security forces retaliated and exchanged fire with the militants for an hour.
