The one-and-a-half week-long Tanveer Dar Memorial Inter-school Hockey Tournament organised by the Nawab Ali XI Hockey Club in collaboration with Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) started at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) Stadium from Wednesday, Aug 20. The tournament featuring 13 school teams from Karachi began in festive style when Ghulaman-i-Abbas School played a festival match with Farabi Govt Boys Secondary School on the inaugural day.

The 13 participating teams have been divided into four pools. Pool `A` comprises City District Govt School Azeem Pura, The City School Prep Boys PECHS and CAA Model Public School No 2, Airport. Pool `B` has Shah Abdul Latif School (Steel Town), City District Govt School SITE Town, ST-2 and Federal Govt Public School Karachi Cantt. Ghulaman-i-Abbas School, Army Public School (COD) and BVS Parsi High School Saddar makes up Pool `C` while Pool `D` boasts of Farabi Govt Boys Secondary School, Qamar-i-Bani Hashim School Malir, Govt Model High School Mirpur Khas and Pak Railway School Karachi Cantt.

The tournament, which concludes on Aug 30, is at its most exciting phase right now so don`t miss Saturday`s two matches at the HCP. Entrance is free.

Monday, Aug 25 CAA Model Public School No 2 vs The City School Prep Boys PECHS at 2.00pm; Farabi Govt Boys Secondary School vs Shah Abdul Latif School (Steel Town) at 3.30pm.

Tuesday, Aug 26 BVS Parsi High School Saddar vs Ghulaman-i-Abbas School at 2.00pm; Govt Model High School Mirpur Khas vs Pak Railway School Karachi Cantt. at 3.30pm.

Wednesday, Aug 27 City District Govt School SITE Town vs Shah Abdul Latif School (Steel Town) at 3.30pm; Govt Model High School Mirpur Khas vs Farabi Govt Boys Secondary School at 2.00pm.
