PESHAWAR, Feb 20: The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday acquitted a person who was sentenced to 25 years’ rigorous imprisonment by a trial court for killing his wife.

A division bench comprising Justice Tariq Pervaiz and Justice Qaim Jan Khan observed that the trial court had overlooked various points while convicting the man.

CONVICTION UPHELD: Dismissing a criminal appeal, a two-member bench of the high court on Wednesday upheld the sentence of 25 years’ imprisonment awarded to a drug pusher by the Special Anti-Narcotics Court.

Sartaj, a resident of Swabi, was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Force on July 23, 2000, here and from his possession 80kgs of charas was seized.
