NEW YORK, Feb 9: President Pervez Musharraf arrived in Boston on Saturday on a two-day private visit by PIA flight Pk 711. He was accompanied by his wife ahead of the first official visit to Washington which begins on Feb 12 to 14.

Gen Musharraf was received at the Boston’s Logan International Airport by his son Bilal and his wife and Pakistan’s ambassador, Maleeha Lodhi, and other embassy officials.

PIA flight 711 made an unscheduled stop at Boston Airport to drop off Gen Musharraf and his party before proceeding to New York. Reports about a speculative meeting between President Musharraf and the former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto were laid to rest as the chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party left for London on Friday night from Washington, DC.

It was reported that Ms Bhutto may have a secret meeting with Gen Musharraf in Boston at the house of his son.

Other members of the president’s official delegation, finance minister Shaukat Aziz, and commerce minister Razzak Dawood and the foreign secretary, Inamul-Haque, are expected to arrive in Washington separately on Feb 11.

Earlier President Gen Pervez Musharraf left Karachi on Friday evening on a private visit to Boston.
