OKARA, April 26: The Anjuman Mazareen Punjab will invite representatives of the human rights, Amnesty International and other social organizations to Okara military farms to have an overview of tenants’ issue. This was decided at a meeting held on Monday night at the residence of Punjab AMP president Munawar Bibi at Chak 11/4-L. Dr Christopher John took the chair.

AMP spokesman David Zahid said the meeting, held after the failure of talks on the contract issue with the military farm authority, continued till late at night.

Meanwhile, an MFA spokesman dispelled the impression that the army was going to launch any operation against the tenants in military farm villages.

He said the existing check posts were established only for the routine security in the cantonment area while no new pickets had been established.
