No new tax in Sheikhupura budget

SHEIKHUPURA, Oct 29: The tehsil council on Monday approved its surplus budget of Rs 213,471,911 for the year 2001-2002.

The council which met here with Nazim Ch Mahmudul Haque in chair, was told that a sum of Rs 178,352,000 would be generated through taxes while the credit balance of last year stood at Rs 35,119,911.

The total expenses for the current year are estimated at Rs 202,146,911. An amount of 98.64 million has been allocated for staff salaries and 49.6 million for development projects in the tehsil.

The nazim told the house that no new tax had been imposed. He assured members that development works allocation would be used transparently.
