OKARA, Nov 6: Police on Saturday registered a case against 156 PPP activists, including district president MPA Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna and city chief Alam Sher Khan Lodhi , under 16 MPO and 188 PPC for setting up a protest camp against the 'illegal' imprisonment of Asif Ali Zardari.

As many as 150 workers have not been identified. Mr Sohna told this correspondent that opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Qasim Zia had appreciated the district chapter of the party for setting up the camp in spite of the government ban on all sorts of gatherings.

ACCIDENT: A retired Wapda official was run over and killed by a speeding truck here on Saturday near cattle market by-pass on the Okara-Faisalabad Road.

Haji Bashir Randhawa was going to the city on his bike (LHS-1376) when the truck (GLT-812) ran over him. He died on the spot.

Police have registered a case and impounded the truck.
