SWABI: Three arrested

SWABI, Nov 4: Three people, including a woman, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in trafficking women.

A police official said that the Attock police had arrested a woman, who disclosed during investigation that a couple of the Topi area, Shaheen and her husband Munir, had deceived and shifted her to Chiniot, Punjab, where she was forced to marry an old person.

Another person, Hamid Khan who is said to be a relative of the couple has also been arrested.

After being married without her consent, he said, the woman had been looking for an opportunity to flee from there and finally succeeded.

It was learnt that Ms Shaheen and her husband got Rs100,000 for their "effort". Later, the victimised woman was arrested by the Attock police.

An investigation, the police official, said had led to the disclosure of names of the couple and the Attock police, accompanied by the Topi police, conducted a raid and arrested them.
