FAISALABAD, Nov 2: Students of the University of Agriculture staged a protest demonstration outside the local press club and marched through different city roads in protest against expulsion of 26 students from the campus here on Tuesday.

The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands and against the university administration.

Students leaders said there was no justification to impose a ban on "Islamic teachings" in the mosque of the campus during Ramazan. But 26 students were expelled because they had protested against the "wrong policies" of the university administration.

The university administration, with the help of police, had expelled 26 students by imposing a ban on their entry on the campus for a period of 14 days "in order to maintain law and order situation" in the university. Of them, 12 students belonged to the Islami Jamiat Talaba and the others to the Inquilabi Council, Faisalabad.
