SIALKOT, Oct 30: Accused in fake degree scam have disclosed that as many as 15 students of Sialkot, Gujrat and Narowal districts have got admissions to the Punjab University with the alleged involvement of PU staff.

They told the investigating teams that some PU officials were also involved in the business of making fake educational degrees.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, district Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid said the suspected PU officials would be arrested soon. He said their names were being kept secret.

Meanwhile, police on Saturday arrested three more officials of the district education department for their alleged involvement in this scandal.

The district government had smashed an inter-provincial gang of fake degree makers on Oct 16 and seized a number of degrees.

VIP protocol: Parents of girls college student, who was released after abduction, alleged that the Daska police were according a VIP protocol to the influential accused and his two accomplices in the lock-up.

They alleged that the SHO had also allowed accused Khalid Ghuman and his accomplices, rice dealers, to use mobile phones in the lock-up. They further alleged that the influential accused were also threatening them with dire consequences while the police were forcing them to patch up with the accused party.

The grieved family has urged the Punjab governor, chief minister and the IGP to take stock of the situation and provide them justice.
