FAISALABAD, Oct 18: After the rejection of bail applications in the murder case of Qari Noor Mohammad, police arrested all three accused here on Monday.

Reports said nominated accused Union Council No 263 Naib Nazim Irfan Gul, his father Haji Gul Mohammad and Jamia Masjid Mubarik committee treasure Haji Bashir had been granted pre-arrest bail by a local sessions court.

On Monday, they appeared before the additional district and sessions judge for the confirmation of their bails, but the court rejected their plea. The police immediately arrested them and shifted them to the Kotwali police station.

CROSSFIRE: A police constable on duty at a mosque on Samundri Road exchanged fire with two suspects at the time of Fajr prayers here on Monday.

Constable Mohammad Maqbool was on guard duty at the Jamia Masjid Hira when he saw two suspects sitting on the roof of a house in front of the main gate of the mosque. The constable opened fire on the suspects who also retaliated.

The area people gathered on the spot, but the suspects fled from the scene by taking advantage of darkness.
