KARACHI, Oct 16: A division bench of High Court of Sindh on Friday issued notices to City Nazim, Nazim of Gadap Town and SHO of Surjani for Oct 21 in a constitutional petition filed by the KMC United Workers Cooperative Society.

Kaniz Fatima, chairperson of the society, moved the court alleging that the Town Nazim of Gadap, Syed Muhammad Sajid Hussain, Nazim of UC-7 and general councillor Sardar Shaukat have encroached upon half portion of a 60 feet wide road. They are land-grabbers and selling land to poor against handsome money, the petitioner alleged.

She further maintained that the DCO was informed about the illegal encroachment and was called upon to remove the same, but he remained silent.

The encroachers have installed a foundation-stone, carrying the name of the City Nazim, but, in fact, he never visited the site, she said.

The petitioner prayed the court to order the DCO to remove the illegal encroachment from the site.-APP
