KARACHI, July 31: Schools and college in the city will reopen after a summer vacation of two months on Monday. Some of the private schools are expected to open on Aug 5 or later.

In city colleges, at present admission process for second year classes is in progress and any formal education is likely to take place in the second week of August.

The principal of Government Degree College, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Prof Syed Muhammad Waseem has announced that classes for second year students at the college would commence on August 5.

Following a recent decision by the Sindh cabinet, students of St Joseph's College for Women and St Patrick's College, are in a state of confusion as there is no clear-cut announcement about the status of the college for the new academic session.

When contacted, an official of the Sindh education department said that students should report at the two college for education as usual. Till the time minutes of cabinet's meeting are received and any agreement is not reached with the private party, which will surely consume a considerable time, how can the students be stopped from taking education at the two colleges in question, added the official.
