THATTA, July 22: The Sindh government will provide relief to people of coastal areas of the district. This was stated by adviser to the Sindh chief minister on public affairs Manzoor Hussain Shah during his visit to various coastal villages on Thursday.

At the Amir Bukero village, where the adviser drove to offer condolence on the death of a peasant, Ghulam Rasool Bukero, he warned the SHO of Mirpur Sakro, Ghulam Qadir Chang, not to become party to influential people.

The peasant was killed on April 29 this year by some influential people of the area. The father of the deceased complained that DPO Ali Nawaz Khaskheli on the instigation of influential people had deleted the names of accused from the FIR.

The adviser was told by MQM's zonal in-charge Farrukh Azam that the people of the coastal belt were at the mercy of feudal lords and police.

The adviser suggested the villagers to join the MQM to get rid of dominating feudal class.

Mr Shah urged MQM activists to be in constant touch with the people of coastal areas and help them sort out their problems. He took notice of absence of a number of heads of different departments and warned them not to avoid their attendance in future.

TWO SISTERS DROWN: Two sisters, Mirzadi, 18, and Mehnaz, 17, were drowned in the Gujo canal, near the Ali Mohammad Katiar village, on Thursday.

Villagers said Mirzadi while washing dishes on the bank of the canal lost her balance and fell into a whirlpool. Mehnaz jumped into the canal to save her sister but both the sisters drowned.

Their bodies were recovered by divers after two hours.
