GUJRANWALA, Feb 21: An industrialist's son, who was kidnapped five months ago, was recovered from the Khyber Agency by a political agent of Bara and was handed over to the family on Saturday.
Reports said Mahmood Alam, a son of Sheikh Manzoor Ahmad (who runs a silk factory at Bara), went to meet his father five months ago when he was kidnapped and detained at a deserted house at Alam Goder.
His father contacted political agents for the recovery of his son, but all his efforts proved futile.
Led by information, a team of Bara's political administration, led by tehsildar Fazal Qader, raided the house and recovered the boy.
The administration later handed him over him to his family without payment of ransom.
CONSTRUCTION WORK: Construction of roads in Kamoki and Wahando remote areas will be completed during the current fiscal, otherwise the contractors' reward be forfeited.
This was stated by prime minister's adviser Rana Nazir Ahmad Khan here on Saturday.
He said Rs2.8 million would be spent on the construction of these roads, besides provision of other facilities to villagers.
INJURED: Robbers injured a widow, besides plundering cash and valuables from passengers in two strikes in and around the district on Saturday.
Reports said four robbers entered widow Bashiran Bibi's house at Satellite Town. They thrashed her on resistance and took away Rs10,000 in cash, ornaments and a mobile phone set.
The widow was admitted to the DHQ hospital where doctors stated her condition to be critical.
Highwaymen stopped a Naushera Virkan-bound wagon on the Sheikhupura Road and deprived passengers of Rs80,000 in cash and gold jewellery.
DIES: One of the victims of cross-fire between rival groups at Naushera Virkan breathed his last at the Mayo Hospital on Saturday.
According to reports, Muhammad Amin and his brother, Pervez Iqbal, suffered injuries, besides four others, in an exchange of fire between two rival groups at Tetley village on Wednesday.
Iqbal was grievously injured and was removed to the Mayo Hospital from the DHQ hospital. He died on Saturday.
Tetley police have registered a case against a dozen people involved in firing.
