Centcom chief meets Musharraf

ISLAMABAD, Jan 16: The Commander of the US Central Command (Centcom), Gen John P. Abizaid, who is currently on an official visit to Pakistan paid a courtesy call on President Gen Pervez Musharraf here on Friday morning, an ISPR Press release said.

They discussed matters of mutual interest during the meeting, it said. The President expressed the hope that Gen Abizaid's visit would further enhance the existing excellent relations between armed forces of the two countries.

Gen Abizaid also met the Vice Chief of Army Staff, Gen Muhammad Yusuf Khan, and discussed with him matters of professional interest. Later, the Centcom Commander departed from the PAF Base, Chaklala, where Lt-Gen Zarrar Azim, Inspector-General of Training and Evaluation and the other officers saw him off.
